Taylor and Andy’s wedding was the first wedding in 2016. It kicks off a busy year with 22 weddings. I’ve always limited my weddings to 12 a year, but I decided to go for it this year to see what would happen and well, it’s going to be a busy year and I’m thankful for it! I’ve been looking forward to this wedding since 1 Taylor and Andy are two very awesome and fun people and 2 it was at the Georgetown Ballroom and I’ve never been there. As I’ve said before, my favorite place to take pictures is a place I’ve never been before 🙂 and it didn’t disappoint. The day couldn’t have been any better!
I love Taylor and Andy’s story and wanted to share it with you… these are the words of Taylor…
“Andy and I met in 2011 at a chance meeting down in Austin, TX. We had both graduated the year previously from separate university’s in Portland, Oregon. He had spent that next year traveling around South America while I had moved back to Seattle and was working my first job as a nurse in Tacoma. We both ended up planning trips to Austin for Halloween weekend to visit our old college roommates who just so happened to now be living together in Texas. We discovered a ton of mutual friends and realized we had just lived a few blocks away from each other in Portland! Such a small world!
We hit it off but hadn’t made any plans to see each other again. I realized after landing in Seattle that I had left my favorite shoes in Austin and when I turned my phone on, Andy had already messaged me promising that he would make sure to return them! About a month later he had managed to hitchhike his way back to Oregon to get his car and drive up for his first visit to Seattle with my beloved shoes in hand. He moved to Seattle 6 months later and purposed 3 years after that in Gasworks Park overlooking the city we fell in love in.”
Their story didn’t end there… they have traveled the world together, having one adventure after another and they plan on continuing that throughout their married life. Each table represented a different place they had visited together, along with a picture of them enjoying their time there – Vienna, Vail, Cinq Terre, Rome, Whitefish, Salzburg, Prague, Albany, Florence, and places around the United States. It was inspiring to witness their adventurous spirit!
I met up with Taylor and her girls at the Alexis Hotel in downtown Seattle. They were all in great spirits and the atmosphere was happy and loving!
I always try to document every detail of a wedding, including the smell, haha.
How cute are these matching jammies!!
You just don’t know what’s behind these doors…
What a cool venue! The Georgetown Ballroom is full of color and interesting objects throughout with a great courtyard out back.
Taylor decided to get her dress on at the venue instead of the hotel. Isn’t her dress beautiful?!
Taylor and Andy wrote their own vows and Taylor reread her’s before seeing Andy.
Just a few tears…
Andy came grinning from ear to ear and I don’t think he ever stopped the entire night!
The first look is one of my favorite parts of the day. Documenting this moment is so special. You don’t get this reaction any other time. It’s priceless!
Taylor had the most beautiful bouquet and dress! Just stunning!
Andy has the best smile!
I loved the ANDY on Taylor’s shoes! It was a total surprise for Andy :).
Joe’s view….
My view…
After walking around enjoying our time together it was time to pick the bugs out of the veil… oh the reality of wedding day is revealed :).
Ready to meet her man down the aisle!
In full Andy fashion, he danced down the aisle.
Followed by TOP security with the treasured rings!
Family is very important to Taylor and her dad adores his girl. He waited at the bottom of the staircase to walk her to her love.
And there’s the opening of the top security briefcase. I love their excitement in the background!
And BAMM, married!
Blue Thunder welcomed Taylor and Andy into their reception! So much energy!
Remember, I told you about the table decorations… the map was on one side and the name of the location on the other, along with a picture. What a cool idea!
With each wedding there’s always fun and unique ideas and with this one they had a caricature artist instead of a photo booth! I LOVED it and look who was there! Helen and Pat.c :). Another one of our couples with an upcoming wedding 🙂 and just by chance they are going to have the same caricature artist at their wedding! Maybe Joe and I can make time to get one at theirs :)!
Let the dancing begin!
And this is how we left them! Still going strong. They were planning to party until they dropped! Thanks for having us document your day. You two are awesome and it was seriously such a fun day!
