It’s fun when we get to be part of our old school friend’s lives again. We graduate and all part ways and it might be years until we hear or see one another, but my profession has allowed me to be part of so many events that hook me back up with old friends. Nicki, the bride, is the daughter of Dan and Andrea Bohnett (I also photographed another of their daughter’s senior pictures). We went to school with both of them and Dan’s brother, Dave. Then I find out that the groom’s father, is an old school friend of Joe’s (my husband) sisters. Small world. Then, when I come to the hotel room to see Nicki put her dress on, I see another old school friend, Julie Long. Her daughter is a bride’s made. Yes, small world indeed. I am honored to be part of it all.
I know this image looks like it’s black and white, but it’s not. Since they were getting married at The Seaport I wanted to embrace the nautical style of the venue and use rope as a background for their beautiful rings.
Nicki’s dress was one of the most gorgeous dresses I have seen. Her mom did an awesome job of lacing up the back. More time consuming than it looks! Believe me, it takes a good 30 minutes to do that job.
Nicki was calm headed and her room was peaceful with everyone helping her to prepare for the first look with Alex at The Silver Cloud Inn.
Alex had given Nicki a special gift, a book full of all their memories together so far.
Meanwhile, the guys were getting ready over at the Seaport.
As their family and friends watched, Nicki and Alex finally got to see each other.
We headed down to the Glass Museum area to capture some images of just the two of them and then their wedding party. It was windy, but we were just so happy it was a beautiful day instead of the rain that was predicted.
Nicki needed a little touch up before the ceremony.
Then the moment she’s been waiting for all her life…
Such an awesome couple… Mr. and Mrs. Langlow
I loved her flowers. Those extra large roses were just beautiful!
I love the new trend of cupcakes at weddings. So easy and makes everyone happy! Cute too!
Some toasts…
Then the first dance.
Then special dances with their parents.
A good group of girls for the toss. There was no coaxing them, they all ran for the chance… look out guys, these girls mean business :).
We ended the night with lots of dancing.
A nice glow as we left the celebration. Thanks for having us as part of your special day! We loved it and everything was just so beautiful. What great friends and family you have! May God Bless you as you start this journey together.
