I did her session a while ago, so it feels a little strange blogging it now, but I just got so behind in the yearly part of the school year and I still want to be sure to show you all my awesome seniors!

I’m sure Maddy knows what college she’s going to by now, but at the time of the shoot she was still deciding. I know she wanted to be a dental hygienist.

The classic post, of course :).

This building is actually the one that fell down in a recent storm, so it’s no longer :(. I’m glad we got to use it for this shoot, even though we didn’t use it a lot!

As you can see, Maddy was just a happy girl. I love being around happy people! It helped to have all her friends standing around and watching her every move!

We ended her shoot just how we started it, with all her wonderful friends. (The one on the left is Lauren, I will be posting her shoot soon 🙂 ).

Lisa Marsh - Hi Connie wondering about a senior pictures season for my daughter. If you could email me some prices and packages that would be great! ThanksReplyCancel

Vanessa is a 2014 Kennedy Catholic High School senior and just a couple of weeks ago we were having fun together exploring downtown Tacoma.

Girl Friends Senior Pictures Tacoma Photographer Kennedy Catholic High School_0001.jpg

We started with her adorned letterman’s jacket . She’s a star swimmer for her school and also swims year-round!

Girl Friends Senior Pictures Tacoma Photographer Kennedy Catholic High School_0002.jpg

She will be swimming for Brigham Young University and hopes to study criminalogy, psychology, socoilogy or human behavior in order to become an FBI agent some day.

Kennedy loves being outside hiking or just taking a walk.

She loves animals, especially dogs!

Girl Friends Senior Pictures Tacoma Photographer Kennedy Catholic High School_0007.jpg

And since she is a swimmer, she loves the water!

Music is a big thing in her life and she can’t go day without it!

Vanessa and drove to several locations for our shoot. She had so many spots she wanted to hit and we got to as many as we could :). The graffiti garage was one of those spots on her list.

She really wanted to get that long grass look, so instead of driving to a place far away to get to the grass, we found it pretty close to downtown, score!

Her friend Abby helped me by holding the difuser, since the sun was facing right where we wanted to shoot. I should have taken a picture of her holding it, since the wind was blowing it practically out of her hands.

One last fun one, this time with Abby too! It’s a wrap for another awesome senior shoot!

I’m venturing into the Pet Photography business. I’ve always had a HUGE love for animals (I am definitely one of THOSE people), so I decided that I just needed to combine my love with animals with my love of photography.

I’m starting with dogs and from there, I hope to grow to other pets. One step at a time.  We love our pets, why not do a special session featuring them, so we can have them to treasure forever!  I wish I had pictures of this of my past babies!

There will be 3 different categories for my pets – Lifestyle, Urban, and Country. I may change the names, but the idea is the same.

Lifestyle = Home or Business
Urban = City
Country = Park or Nature

I hope you enjoy watching me grow in this area. I already encourage people to bring their pets to their family and senior shoots, even weddings, so this is just a further extension of that. Be sure to stop by my facebook fan page and look at the People and Furry Friends Album. It’s a fun one to browse for sure!

I have a new puppy myself and I will feature him, I promise, but for my first Pet Photography post I decided to feature my shoot with Carabiner. It’s a Lifestyle shoot done in my friend Melissa’s beautiful salon, Che’mel Salon on 6th Ave. Melissa and her staff are great and have done hair and makeup for many of my seniors as well as collaborated on several special photography projects. I love working with local businesses and supporting each other up in our local community!

Carabiner is 2 1/2 years old and is an English Toy Spaniel. She is very special, of course!

Pet Dog Tacoma Lifestyle Photographer_0003.jpg

Her human Dad loves to go climbing, hence her name :).

Pet Dog Tacoma Lifestyle Photographer_0001.jpg

Her favorite activity is hanging out on an available lap. Her breed was bred to sit on laps of royalty to keep them company in cold castles in Europe. Melissa tells me that she fully understands her role and does it very well.

Pet Dog Tacoma Lifestyle Photographer_0002.jpg

Her favorite toy is is a stuffed little mouse that she stole from the other two kitty in the house. Every evening she seems to mis-place “flat mouse” and every evening her humanmom and dad scour the house to lookfor it for her, since she is stressed until it’s found.

Pet Dog Tacoma Lifestyle Photographer_0008.jpg

Since Melissa is a hairdresser/artist and Carabiner (Beans) looks like she has hair, I thought it would be fun to get a few action shots :).

Pet Dog Tacoma Lifestyle Photographer_0004.jpg

Her personality is nothing but happy and shows it by her constant wiggling of her whole butt. Her breed often is born with a corkscrew tail that you can’t see very well as a throw back from the Pug genetics. It’s burried under all that hair!

Thanks Melissa for letting me borrow an hour from you to capture your little baby! She did such a great job and your salon is beautiful!

Ben is a 2014 Stadium High School senior and is the son of my childhood friend, Dorothy. We have known each other since kindergarten and what an honor it is that I now get to take her son’s senior portraits!

Guy Senior Stadium High School Tacoma Senior Photographer_0002.jpg

I can’t tell you how fun Ben was on our shoot. The best personality – happy, funny and willing, but it shouldn’t surprise me, since his mom is only one of the sweetest people I know!

We decided to do our shoot downtown, since it was close to Stadium and we wanted to end our session there.

Guy Senior Stadium High School Tacoma Senior Photographer_0004.jpg

I know it was hard for Dorothy to pick her images. There were so many that made me laugh with his personality shining through… who wouldn’t just want them all!

Guy Senior Stadium High School Tacoma Senior Photographer_0005.jpg

He did manage to give me some more serious looks though :).

Ben is on Stadium’s Basketball team and I had the pleasure of watching and capturing him playing in one of the team’s playoff games. He was awesome!

Guy Senior Stadium High School Tacoma Senior Photographer_0006.jpg

Guy Senior Stadium High School Tacoma Senior Photographer_0010.jpg

I have to be honest. When I end a session at Stadium it’s the front of the castle that everyone really wants and that’s where I usually end up, not taking the time to explore the campus a little more. I have done some in the bowl before, but it’s usually closed when I’m there. This time we really wanted the bowl in the background, so we got as high as we could and experimented.

Guy Senior Stadium High School Tacoma Senior Photographer_0007.jpg

We did get one at the front too, of course :).

Guy Senior Stadium High School Tacoma Senior Photographer_0011.jpg

We finally ended the session on the way down the staircase.

Guy Senior Stadium High School Tacoma Senior Photographer_0009.jpg

And had some more laughs along the way! What an awesome session! Ben, you are the best! Dorothy, I love ya!

Alex is a 2014 Charles Wright Academy senior. She has a twin brother I will be shooting soon, but this session is all about her!

Girl Senior Charles Wright Academy Tacoma Senior Photographer_0002.jpg

Alex loves her sports. She is involved in Varsity Volleyball and Golf. Last year she was captain of her Varsity Basketball too.

Girl Senior Charles Wright Academy Tacoma Senior Photographer_0001.jpg

She is the co-leader of two clubs: Green Key Club and Global Outreach Club. The Global Outreach Club is a club that works with World Bicycle Relief, which is an organization that raises money for kids in Africa so that they can get to school and home in less time than walking. They also give bicycles to nurses so that they can see more patients in one day!

Girl Senior Charles Wright Academy Tacoma Senior Photographer_0004.jpg

This year she is also the Senior Student Activities Council representative!

Girl Senior Charles Wright Academy Tacoma Senior Photographer_0003.jpg

She is also part of Charles Wright Academy Singers.

Girl Senior Charles Wright Academy Tacoma Senior Photographer_0005.jpg

She wanted a couple locations for her shoot, the first being downtown, then Ruston Way.

You’ll be seeing her again when she pops in for a few shots with her twin brother during his session.

Girl Senior Charles Wright Academy Tacoma Senior Photographer_0010.jpg

I love the places you can find in Ruston, different than just the water.

Girl Senior Charles Wright Academy Tacoma Senior Photographer_0011.jpg

Alex brought her well decorated letterman’s jacket to the shoot. She will her jacket forever!

Girl Senior Charles Wright Academy Tacoma Senior Photographer_0012.jpg

We did get a little sun during our shoot and we grabbed it when we could.

Girl Senior Charles Wright Academy Tacoma Senior Photographer_0015.jpg

Thanks for a great shoot Alex! I’ll see you soon!

Kali is a 2014 Decator High School Senior and she is FULL of personality!! I don’t have to tell you that though, you will see for yourself :).

Kali will be attending WSU and studying animal science – now that’s my kind of girl!!

She loves music, animals (specifically horses) and is a dancer!

She’s a country girl as you can see!

The classic pose. Always have to have the classic pose!

Kali brought her hip hop clothes and showed me some of her moves! So much fun to watch her dance.

She also knows classical ballet.

It was getting a little late, but we made it to the beach and got a few beach shots.

She wanted to get a little wet, so we went for it. She’s a rock star for getting into that COLD water and not even flinching!

Thanks for having fun with my Kali and for your fun spirited attitude!
