Brett – 2014 SAMI Senior – Tacoma Senior Photographer

Brett is a 2014 SAMI (Science and Math Institute) senior and loves long boarding, so that’s where we started.

I understand that not everyone loves being in front of the camera and it seems that feeling is even stronger for most guy seniors. That’s why I like starting with a prop. It helps to ease into it all and before you know, the tension is gone and there’s just fun to be had!

Brett is also a guitar player and I’m so glad he decided to bring his guitar to our shoot. We had so much fun with it!

My husband, Joe is a guitar builder, so I’m surrounding by them at all times and love capturing your artists! I “get” the musician :). For this image I stuck Brett right in the line of the sun. I don’t usually do that, but I knew it would be a great rugged look for a black and white image.

I think this was one of Brett’s favorites when I showed him the back of my camera.

I think we could have done the entire shoot with just him and his guitar :).

But, we needed to go on and get some non-guitar shots too.

We found a cool spot to finish up.

Thanks for a great shoot and making my career change the right choice! I love what I do and the relationships that develop from it. That’s a good feeling for sure!

Kelly – Class of 2014 – Peninsula High School – Tacoma Senior Photographer

Kelly has been following my blog for years she tells me and now we have finally met and did HER senior session. I love hearing that and feel very special that I was the one she chose. There are tons of photoghers, we are like Starbucks, on every corner, so I feel extra special with every one of my clients.

Kelly is a 2014 Peninsula High School senior. She is a volleyball player and is very close to her family, so we actually started with a family session first. Many families opt to do that. It’s a great opportunity to get that family picture before college days start and the family is not together as much as they have been used to. It becomes harder to schedule a shoot and the opportunities slip passed us easily. I know, I have a college student myself… side note… he comes home in just a month! Yay! Miss my boy to pieces!

After we finished the family and our time at Chambers Bay, we headed downtown and concentrated on Kelly. We were able to find some Cherry Blossoms hiding beside a few buildings in downtown Tacoma.

We stayed within a couple of blocks of where we parked and just had fun in what we found along the way.

Every step has potential :).

And a flip over gives a totally different look.

The sun was disappearing quickly, so we made one last clothing change and had some fun in the street, more like a wide alley.

Monica and Tai – Tacoma Family Photographer

Monica, Tai and I had a great time Saturday morning at Wright Park.

It was a perfect morning in the park and we definitely beat the crowd I saw there later.

I’m so glad there were Cherry Blossoms in the park. I don’t remember these in the past, but obviously they have been there a long time :). I love that I am always discovering something new in the city of mine!

I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed my time with Monica and Tai. This little guy is just full of joy and loves to spread it all around. I had fun talking with him and getting his many expressions.

Tai has a very special story! Monica adopted him from China when he was only a year old and finally got to bring him home at 2 1/2! He has some medical issues, but together they are getting through them. With just the 2 short hours I spent capturing them I could tell that Monica is an amazing mom and woman! They are perfect for each other!

Even with a big toy calling Tai’s name, he totally stayed focus on our shoot and just had fun with his mamma.

So sweet.

Wright Park has always been a favorite, but every time I go there I try to go to a new spot and experiment. This was my new spot this time :).

Springtime brings out these little daisy like flowers in the grass. I just love them and try to use them every year.

Sarah – 2014 Stadium High School – Tacoma Senior Photographer

Sarah is a 2014 Stadium High School senior, but she actually attend TCC for their Running Start program.

We had a fun time on her shoot and I’m glad her mom got to come along and witness Sarah’s senior session. It’s always a special time for parents too.

Sarah wanted a natural look for her session, so we chose this rustic location and it worked out perfectly for her.

We had a bit of an overcast day, but that’s fine for me. I like all kinds of weather and a cloudy day is still a great day for pictures!

Sarah has a very sweet spirit about her.

Lauren and Rafael Got Married!! – Tacoma Wedding Photographer

On a rainy and perfect day in March Lauren, Rafael and all their family and close friends came together to celebrate their love for each other.

These 2 were very happy and just enjoyed every minute together!

Since it was pouring outside we decided to do the best with what we had and do most of the pictures inside. As we were entering back into the venue I looked behind me and this is what I saw… so beautiful.

Then another spot, as we got to the top of the stairs spoke to me.

These ladies were awesome!!

So were these guys and they braved the outside in the only dry spot we could find :).

That moment had arrived and Lauren looked beautiful.

Now time to celebrate!

Then the party really began!

The guys laughed so much!! Love it!

What an awesome group of people and we loved seeing some of our Wenatchee friends!!

Brenda and Sergio Engagement – Wenatchee Wedding Photographer

Brenda and Sergio are getting married in October, so wanted their engagement session in the fall to reflect the wedding season they will be in for their wedding. Please forgive me for just posting these now! I know it’s cherry blossom season and all, but I am posting colorful leaves… I know it’s wrong!

They will be getting married in Wenatchee and we are so honored to be their chosen photographers! We love visiting that area and always make it a mini vaca when we have weddings there :)! This will be the third one.

I know that during the fall I say it’s my favorite season and it is, but since we have had a few days of beautiful spring weather, that is quickly becoming my favorite. Maybe I’m just starved for the nice weather!

Wright Park is always the chosen location when fall colors are wanted.

I know this wedding will be fun! All the Wenatchee weddings are and we have gotten to know this group of people well and love them all! Such great people!

Sergio and Brenda came all the way to Tacoma for the engagement session and brought along past wedding clients (friends) with them, so it was great seeing them too! Then just a couple of weeks ago we did another wedding for this group of friends, but that one was here instead of Wenatchee. I will be posting that wedding soon.

Just a few more to wrap this fall session up.
