Adam is my nephew and he is getting MARRIED!!!! YAY!! To Megan!!! YAY! It’s so exciting and I can’t wait to document his upcoming wedding in Oregon. Since Adam is born and raised in Gig Harbor and it’s where he met Megan and where he proposed to her, he wanted their engagement session there. Megan will be a great addition to our family and we can’t wait to see what the future has in store for them. I have 2 nephews getting married this year and so far one niece next year! It’s been a busy few years of family weddings :).

Megan and Adam – Oregon Wedding Day | Connie Riggio Seattle Tacoma Photographer - […] Megan looked stunning! Adam wrote a song for Megan and surprised her with it after their first look. Smiles… nothing but smiles all day long!! I love the look of using eclectic china pieces for the bridal party table. I was so excited when I saw they had chosen to do that. Not many do and I just love the idea! The send off! What a fun day! Thank you Adam and Megan, for trusting us on such an important day in your life. We love you both! If you want to see more of these two, their engagement session can be seen here. […]ReplyCancel

Emily comes from a very special family! They are close and I love the images that her mom shares of them. They are involved in their church, dance, photography, and just having a good time together. I was honored the first time I was asked to do her brother’s senior portraits, then the family (so much fun) and then Emily. When I started this business back in 2010 I had dreamt of creating a family, where my customers would just keep coming back and more than that they would become friends. It’s so fun to see that happening and after making such a huge career change 8 years ago, there has never been a moment I haven’t felt thankful for the life and career I have now. I mean, I had a great work family before and worked for an awesome company who treated me well, but I just needed a change and this was the right change to make. Thank you for hanging out with me Emily!! You made a cold day bright and I needed to have some fun on this particular day. I know the session was all about you and celebrating your senior hood, but just know I enjoyed every bit of it too!

An old school friend contacted me for senior portraits for his kids – he had Ryan graduating from Foss High School and Christine graduating from University of Washington – Tacoma. I always love getting to see old school friends and what an honor to capture their kid’s senior portraits. Both Ryan and Christine were great to capture, easy to talk to and great to hang out with, smart, polite and fun! I know you are very proud Joe! Congrats Ryan and Christine!

Sarah is a Gig Harbor senior and wanted her session where there were flowers, beach and sunshine. Well, the sunshine I couldn’t promise, but the rest I had handled :). I did her sister’s senior pictures a couple of years ago (completely different look of the city), so it was great being able to see her family and do another session for them.  Sarah is just so gorgeous, smart and kind, that it wasn’t hard to spend a couple hours with her and get fabulous images!

Sydney is a Hazen High School Senior and she is a ton of fun! There were times in our session we just sat across from each other and laughed… the connection. I love when that happens! We had a colder fall day for our session, but that didn’t stop us from sitting on the group or embracing the wind. Really, when I am with a senior, nothing else matters. We just concentrate on where we are going and what outfit to wear and everything else just falls into place!

Bennett is not one for being in front of the camera, but I loved working with his shyness. Sometimes, a shy person can have my favorite outcomes. Not all guys are excited to get senior pictures taken! I know, I know, surprise! Right! haha My advice to you, get them anyway. Years down the road you will love to have them and any insecurities we had at the time will be viewed totally different after years have passed. High School graduation only happens once and it’s good to capture it while it’s here. There is so much growing that’s done during college. I think that’s especially true for guys.

Bennett goes to one of my favorite schools around, Charles Wright. They really are extraordinary and I try to attend the graduation every year, but unfortunately this year it overlaps with other plans. I know that gradations can be boring, but for smaller private schools they are usually very well done and hold my attention. Charles Wright pairs students with faculty and each member of the faculty gives a gift to a student. Sometimes they have even created a little secret handshake they share before exchanging. The speakers are inspiring and the ceremonies are touching, performed on the outside grassy lawn in front of the school. I’ll miss not going this year :(.
