Day 1 of LOVE week!
I am so excited for Joely and Travis and it has nothing to do with the fact that Joely is my niece, haha. Since they live in Chelan and a little vaca sounded fun, we decided to do their shoot there. We picked places that were very special to them. Joely works at a couple of wineries and runs a wine blog, so of course, we had to do some of her session among the grape vines. Our next choice, was more something I wanted with more formal clothing and dramatic images and I love how they turned out and where we found the perfect spot! Our next location was the future spot of their home – how perfect is that… and the last place, a special childhood memory of Joely’s. Every summer her parents would take her to Chelan, along with her cousins (my kids) and they would play on this dock, swim in the pool just above it and jump into the lake. Great memories that deserved a spot in her engagement session.
Aren’t they adorable! They think the world of each other.
We had already walked back to our cars and gotten in, ready to drive to the next location when I noticed this view and stopped them in time to take advantage of it.
I found this location when driving to my SIL’s house. It’s just down the street (also very close to where Joely and Travis will build their first home). I loved the two tall trees and just had to use them!
Like I stated before, this outfit change was my vision and I’m so glad they were willing to step out of the norm for them and dress up. I love what we captured!
So much fun :).
This is what I was really after with this outfit! Drama! I found this location just down the road from the tall trees. I wish I would have taken a step back and captured the whole area for you to see. You might easily pass it and think nothing of it, but I was so excited to create something very special for them.
This is my favorite one!
Welcome to Travis and Joely’s future home! Isn’t the view fabulous!
Their first “date” was watching the stars on the roof of this truck.
I’m so glad they found each other. They are getting married at Thornewood Castle in August and I can’t wait to be part of her special day, not only as her Auntie, but as her photographer too! Amanda (my daughter) is a bridesmaid and Joe (my husband and second shooter) will be singing a song for the first dance and helping me capture the day. It’s a family event for sure!
We did this shoot over a 2 day period and this was our last location. My kids have memories at this spot too, since they spent many summers here with their Auntie, Uncle and Joely.
I love this image so much :).
I am so happy for you both and look forward to watching you grow as a couple :). xoxoxo
